Episode takeawaysSleeping well is an essential self-care practice. Without sleep, it’s hard to be brave, motivated, or even grateful. The choice to step back and take care of yourself can be a difficult one. Doing so is brave. Stress and lack of sleep often go hand-in-hand. If you’re struggling with insomnia, check in with yourself about if—or why—you’re stressed. “Stress” means any time where we feel like we can’t handle what life’s throwing at us with the resources that we have. Sleep helps you take better care of yourself and everyone else.Get additional details, show notes, links, and a full transcript of the episode here.Get your BRAVE on by joining out exclusive (and FREE) Facebook Collective, Brave on Purpose. In this conversation, Erin shares how hypnosis can help us see things differently, create new habits, and heal in all sorts of ways. But it doesn’t work unless you WANT it too!One area that Erin see’s her work really helps is in public speaking and training. Through her work as a hypnotherapist, she helps ease all sorts of anxieties by guiding her clients through all the motions of the day - this has the effect of making clients feel like they have already been through the day and while the practice may not make perfect, but it can definitely make us less anxious.Top TakeawaysThe way we see the world shapes our reality. If we change the way we see the world, our reality changes, too.Our brains are ultra-susceptible to suggestion. We can convince ourselves of anything given enough time and effort. Healing begins when you want it to begin. Many event-based anxieties (like testing or public speaking) stem from our unfamiliarity with the process. Erin helps ease these types of anxieties by guiding her clients through all the motions of that day. Practice may not make perfect, but it can definitely make us less anxious.Anxiety, when unaddressed, can manifest into other mental and physical ailments.Get additional details, show notes, links, and a full transcript of the episode here.Get your BRAVE on by joining out exclusive (and FREE) Facebook Collective, Brave on Purpose. FEARLESS • SELF-RELIANT • LOYALAllison has experienced tremendous loss and is currently battling cancer and yet, this interview is full of life and joy. In this truly delightful conversation, Allison and I talk about EMOTIONS - and how they never disappear so pretending they don’t exist causes us way more harm than good. BUT if you allow yourself to really, truly feel emotions as they come, they are less likely to fester. We also talk about the incredible power of helping others which has a magical way of widening our world view and perspective. Oh and one more thing … Everybody can be a writer. All you need to do is start telling the truth.Top TakeawaysEmotions don’t disappear. Bad feelings can’t resolve on their own. If you allow yourself to feel all your emotions as they come, they’re less likely to fester. It’s okay (and encouraged) to write for yourself, rather than for an audience. Not everyone may tell a cohesive story, but anyone can feel the therapeutic benefits of putting their story on paper. Reading other peoples’ stories can help you better understand the world. Having a loving support system can, literally, save your life.Get additional details, show notes, links, and a full transcript of the episode here.Get your BRAVE on by joining out exclusive (and FREE) Facebook Collective, Brave on Purpose. In this episode we tackle some big-ticket ideas like perception and understanding that our perception creates our realities - therefore, we have the POWER to SHIFT our realities if we choose to do so - this is done by putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations that allow us to learn more about ourselves. Perception also has a tremendous impact on how we see others - we view everything from the perspective of our own experiences. Finally, we talk about the empowerment we feel when we stop trying to meet other people's standards and expectations. It’s time to decide for YOURSELF what your standards and expectations are. The only person you’re responsible for is yourself. When you choose to be responsible for yourself you are able to be there for others in a much more important and impactful way. As conscious beings, we are able to listen and pay attention to ourselves. This helps us create and maintain good relationships with ourselves and others.Additional content and full transcripts can be found here.Support The Brave Files on Patreon here.Share your thoughts and feedback by calling 312-646-0205.Have you ever thought about starting your own podcast?
